"I trust God speaks through me. Without that, I couldn’t do my job."
— President Bush, quoted in the Lancaster New Era, during a private meeting with an Amish group.
So you used an out of context quote. The original quote was Bush talking to a religious crowd, about his religion.
What I find most interesting is that you use this 10 years later, 6 years after his term ended to do what? Slander Bush because he’s not involved in politics anymore? Is religion tied to a political party? Should our politicians not be religious? Does Bush think he’s divine?
I can’t answer these, and I’m not particularly religious, but if we’re swapping out of context religious quotes, I’ll misconstrude one as well.
"It was on those streets, in those neighborhoods, that I first heard God’s spirit beckon me. It was there that I felt called to a higher purpose — His purpose." -Barack Obama February 6, 2009.
